Terms

Tilltopps is a game played with real walking. These terms are short on purpose: they say what the game promises, what it does not, and who decides when something is unclear.

The game

You pick a mountain. The app credits ascent — height gained — from your phone's barometer while a session is running. When the credited meters reach the mountain's height, you have climbed it. The server decides what counts; the app is a client, and its numbers are a request, not a verdict.

Ascent is measured, not judged. Stairs, hills, ramps and parking garages are all the same meters. Descents are recorded as a statistic and never subtracted.

Topps

Topps is the game's scoring unit. It is earned by climbing and spent inside the game. It has no cash value, it cannot be bought, it cannot be exchanged for money, and it does not survive your account being deleted.

Challenges

A challenge has a fixed window and a target. Progress submitted outside the window does not count toward it. When the window closes, the result is settled by the server and is final — a challenge is not reopened because a phone was offline.

Physical rewards

Summiting a mountain can entitle you to a printed item — a postcard, or a merch item bought with Topps. We send what we can, when we can: an item is a fulfilment by a print partner, subject to stock, delivery address validity and the postal service. A physical reward is not a warranty, and a delayed one does not make the climb un-happened.

Subscriptions

Pro is an auto-renewing subscription bought through Apple, with a 14-day trial. Billing, renewal and refunds are Apple's, through your App Store account. Cancelling stops renewal; the free tier keeps working, and everything you climbed stays climbed.

Your conduct

Do not spoof your ascent to win other people's challenges, do not publish something that is not yours, and do not use the app to do something reckless. It is a game about walking, and it is not a navigation device, a safety device or a medical one.

The mountain data

Heights, borders and coordinates come from GeoNames and from Wikipedia articles. Catalog data is offered under the licenses those sources use (GeoNames CC BY 4.0, Wikipedia text CC BY-SA), and every catalogue item links back to the article it came from.

Availability

The app and its servers are provided as they are. We keep them up because the game is no game without them, but no part of it carries an uptime promise, and a lost session is a lost session.

Who we are

Tilltopps is made by Trimigo, Sweden. Reach us at walk@tilltopps.app. These terms are governed by Swedish law and, as far as consumer law allows, by the courts where we are based.

By using the app you agree to these terms. If a rule in the app contradicts this page, the app is the one that decides — and we would like to hear about it.
